Jadi dimulai dari who we are, where we are and where are we going to be in the future.

Sang penulis, Kelly A. Fryer, menawarkan 5 perspektif:

Pertama, "Jesus is Lord". Because Jesus is Lord, nothing and no-one else can be. What are some of the things which become Lord instead of Jesus in our lives and churches?

Kedua, "Everyone is welcome". Jesus welcomed everyone – including, surprisingly, us!. How would our church be transformed if we lived out Jesus’ inclusive welcome for everyone?

Ketiga, "Love changes people". It’s God’s unconditional love for us that changes us, not the laws in the Bible or even church's rules. And it really does change us. Where does God’s love call us to go, what does it call us to be?

Keempat, "Everybody has something to offer". We have all been called into the priesthood of all believers through our baptism. What would happen if all of us were set free to take up our ministry as part of the people of God?

Kelima, "The world needs what we have". We have such a great gift, we have to share it.

Kelima hal tersebut bukan hal yang baru, bukan? Tetapi jika diaplikasikan akan membawa perubahan. Berani terima tantangan?

Thx Kang u/public space-nya.
Sbg pengantar, sehubungan dgn pertumbuhan gereja penulis menyatakan “There was no single “technique” that DID make a difference over the past decade.
The ONLY factor that really matters is whether or not a church has a clear enough vision of where God wants it to go that it is willing to do whatever it takes to follow wherever God leads.”
Selain itu pula beliau mengutip hasil riset ELCA yg menyimpulkan “It is reasonable to believe that evangelism, contemporary worship, and media advertising will have a direct impact on average worship attendance; yet, it is not the case if the congregation is without a clear sense of mission and purpose with the welcoming of innovation and change.”
Ato berdasarkan pengalaman rekans, ada yg berpendapat lain?
